Museums are feeling the economic pinch as states cut funding for the arts. In New York, the Brooklyn Museum of Art decided not to host the popular show "Art in the Streets" currently at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles citing financial reasons and El Museo del Barrio was forced to layoff staff this week in an effort to trim 1.1 million dollars from its budget. Moreover the Metropolitan Museum of Art recently raised its suggested admission price to $25. This is the second hike in five years. As the economy continues to stalls, do not be surprise to see higher entrance fees and an end to free days.
